May Miss Rest of Season at the Fort
FORT ERIE, May 30...Jockey Regina Sealock will
likely miss the rest of the season after suffering a
fractured shinbone in a training accident Tuesday morning.
“I’m
guessing I’ll miss the season,” said the 47
year-old jockey. “I’m going take my time and
concentrate on coming back in good shape. I don’t
want to try and be a hero and push it.”
This is the third
time Sealock has injured the same leg. She broke her knee
in 96 and sustained a broken heel two years ago.
Sealock, who won
her first race at Stampede Park in 1985, was off to a great
start this year winning seven races in the first 11 days.
She was 4th in the rider standings.
