Frezacon
Romps in 2008 Debut

FORT ERIE, May 25...Frezacon, 2007 Fort Erie Horse of the Year, returned
to the races in spectacular form this afternoon at the Border oval.
With Cory Clark
in the irons, Frezacon flew to the lead out of the gate
and never looked back, scoring a three and one half length
victory over 2006 horse of the year Cold War.
Clark was riding
Frezacon for the first time, taking over the reins from
retired jockey Robbie King Jr. “He’s awesome,” said
Clark. “I just sat there and let him do his thing,
I wish there were more like him.”
Winning first
time out is not new for Frezacon. Last year the son of
Lexicon scored an impressive eight length win in a $10,000
claiming race at a distance of one mile and seventy yards.
This year he faced tougher company in an allowance event
going one mile and one sixteenth.
“He trained
very well going into the race,” said trainer Myckie
Neubauer. “I think he was getting a bit tired at
the end, but so were the others, he ran pretty much the
same as he did first time out last year.”
Neubauer plans
to keep Frezacon racing at Fort Erie if possible. “We’ll
keep an eye on the condition book, if his races fill, we’ll
be here.”
Frezacon, sent
off as the second choice in the betting, paid $6.40, $3.70
and $3.10. Cold War finished second, $6.30 and $4.00. Tyler’s
Jewel was third, $4.10.
The final time
for the one mile and one sixteenth was 1:46 3/5
