Golden
Sunset Takes Fort Erie Slots Cup
Fort Erie,
July 18...Golden
Sunset pulled away to an impressive win in the Fort Erie
Slots Cup Sunday afternoon at Fort Erie Race Track.

Jockey
Krista Carignan rides Golden Sunset to victory in Fort
Erie Slots Cup.
The daughter of
Mutakddim won by 1 ½ lengths under leading rider
Krista Carignan for owner/trainer Tony Adamo.
Golden Sunset
sat 3rd in the early stages behind early pace setter Snow
Rite. When Carignan asked the 6-year-old chestnut mare
for her best, she kicked into another gear. “We broke
great, stayed out of the way and then I brought her home,” explained
Carignan. This is Krista Carignan’s first stakes
victory. “I could get used to this,” said the
jubilant jockey.
Golden Sunset
is now 7 for 8 lifetime at Fort Erie. Adamo claimed the
mare on April 11 for $8,000. She has won 3 of 4 starts
for her new connections.
Golden Sunset
paid $8.20, $5.40 and $4.00. Snow Rite, at 56-1 held on
for second and paid $40.80 and $10.90. The favourite Mindemoya
finished third and returned $3.50.
