Announcing Fort Erie Race Track's First Ladies Day

Fort Erie, July 12...On Sunday, July 18th, Fort Erie Race Track will be hosting Ladies Day at the Races.

The event will begin at noon when our female jockeys will be available for a meet and greet as well as an autograph session until 1pm. Our female riders will be signing a free 8 x 10 group photo for the first 500 fans. Ballots will be available with our jockeys for female fans to enter a draw in which they could win numerous prizes that have been donated to the event by local businesses. Prizes include: a hat from The Beau Chapeau, gift certificates for salon and spa services from F8 Salon and Spa, Hairport and The Atrium Spa, gift certificates for meals from The Old Bank Bistro and Kelsey’s as well as movie passes, a chocolate gift basket from Nigh’s Sweet Shop, and floral items from Crescent Florist. The draws will take place throughout the live racing card.

Fans who purchase an on track racing program will also receive mini binoculars as a free gift.

During the live race card, local artist Leisa Temple will have her racing and animal paintings on display which are also available for purchase. Ladies can treat themselves to a relaxing “mini” session of reiki, massage and reflexology at a cost of $10 for a 10 minute session as well, mini manicures will be available for the same small fee.

A display of jewellery from Beads in Harmony, photographic greeting cards and all natural home remedies will also be available for purchase.

The band “The Joys” featuring vocalist Sarah Smith will perform live from 1pm to 4pm.

As a part of Ladies Day, female race caller Dawn Lupal will announce the live racing action with Fort Erie’s own Peter Kyte and local racing analyst Elissa Blowe will handicap the day’s card with Woodbine on-air personality Greg Blanchard.

The fun begins at noon with live racing getting underway at 1:30pm.
