Leading Rider Out Indefinitley

FORT ERIE, August 31...Fort Erie’s leading rider Chad Beckon suffered a concussion after he was thrown from his mount during the running of yesterday’s 8th race and will be out indefinitely.

Beckon, who won his first race at Woodbine in 2003, lost an iron shortly after leaving the starting gate and was tossed from his mount as he attempted to recover.

Beckon, who finished second in the rider standings in 07 with 73 victories, is currently 10 wins shy of last years mark. He is 21 wins ahead of the meets second leading rider, Rui Pimentel.

Two months remain in the 08 season. The meet wraps up on Tuesday, October 28.
