Top
Ten List Back to Defend Title
FORT ERIE,
August 17…Top Ten List, winner of the
2006 Rainbow Connection Stakes, is back to defend her
title in Sunday’s renewal of the $125,000 grass
test at Fort Erie.
However, when
she breaks for the gate Sunday afternoon she will not be
carrying the familiar yellow and blue colours of Frank
Di Giulio Jr. and Bob Tiller. Following the 2006 campaign
Top Ten List was entered into the Keeneland November Breeding
Stock Sale where she attracted a winning bid of $170,000.
Her new owners are Margaret Addis and John Crane Jr. of
Maryland.
“She was
put into the sale as a broodmare/racehorse,” said
trainer Michael Trombetta. “My clients purchased
her for breeding purposes, but because she’s a young
horse and we figured we could get another year of racing
before she retires.”
The five-year-old
daughter of Bold Executive will be seeking her first win
since the fall sale. She has made four starts for her new
connections and she just missed in her last two.
“She was
one jump short in a Stake at Delaware and came back to
run a big one at Monmouth,” said Trombetta. “If
she’s on her game Sunday they’ll know she’s
there.”
Seven other fillies
and mares have been entered in the five furlong dash including
last year’s runner-up Shot Gun Ela and third place
finisher Bosskiri.
The Rainbow Connection
Stakes will be the 7th race on the 8 race program and is
scheduled to go to post at 3:49pm.
