Ted "Teeder" Kennedy Dies at Age 83

FORT ERIE, August 14...Ted “Teeder” Kennedy, longtime horse owner/breeder, racing official and most of all, a hockey legend, passed away Friday morning at age 83.

Kennedy, a native of nearby Port Colborne, Ontario, played 13 seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs winning five Stanley Cups. A Hall of Famer and three-time all-star, Kennedy is the last Leaf to win the Hart Trophy as the leagues most valuable player. He did so in 1955.

Kennedy served as a Steward for the Ontario Racing Commission in the 1970's and 1980’s and later served as Chief of Security at Fort Erie Race Track.

Mr. Kennedy’s family will receive visitors at the Port Colborne Chapel of the Davidson Funeral Home, 135 Clarence St. on Sunday August 16 from 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at St. James and St. Brendan Anglican Church, 55 Charlotte St. Port Colborne on Monday August 17 at 11am.
