Break
Even Wins Fans Cup
FORT ERIE,
August 09...Wicked early fractions set up a
perfect trip for Break Even in the Fans Cup Sunday afternoon
at Fort Erie.

Break Even wins 2009 Fans Cup
With Michael McMullen
in the saddle, Break Even relaxed off the pace set by Fezacon
and made a solid late run to win the one mile and one sixteenth
test by 1 ½ lengths.
The final time over a sloppy main track was 1:44 1/5.
“He never runs a bad race,” said McMullen. “There
was good pace today and I was able to sit back and relax.
He really fired when he had to.”
Owned by Sam Passero and trained by Bob Gilyana, Break Even
paid $11.90, $3.80 and $2.60. Great Addiction, who was looking
for his third win of the year, also came from off the pace
and finished second returning $2.40 and $2.20. Smiling Jordan
paid $4.40 to show. The exactor returned $28.70 and the triactor
paid $173.30.
Next Sunday Ontario Sired fillies and mares will compete
in the $125,000 Rainbow Connection Stakes, a five furlong
sprint on the Fort Erie turf course.
