the Mustard Romps in Anderson Memorial

FORT ERIE,
August 6…Cut
The Mustard romped to an impressive victory in Sunday’s
running of the $25,000 Michael Anderson Memorial Cup
at Fort Erie.
With Chad Beckon
in the irons, the five-year-old daughter of Double Honor
went gate to wire to defeat Streetwise by 1 ¾ lengths
with Blue Ridge Linda third. The final time for the six
furlongs was 1:12.26
“We got
a good clean break,” said jockey Chad Beckon. “We
got clear along the backstretch and I was able to give
her a breather. She did it very well.”
Cut The Mustard,
owned by Tucci Stables, Robert Clay and Dan Eplin notched
her ninth lifetime victory boosting her career earnings
to over $265,000.
The Nick Gonzalez
trained runner returned $6.00, $4.30 and $3.30. Streetwise
paid $9.50 and $5.50 while Blue Ridge Linda paid $2.80.
Next up in the
2007 Cup Series will be the $25,000 Don Valliere Memorial
next Sunday.
