Frivolette
in the Mike Anderson Memorial
FORT ERIE,
August 02...A disqualification landed Frivolette in
the winners circle in the running of the Mike Anderson Memorial
Cup Monday at Fort Erie.
Starfromafar,
with Melanie Pinto in the irons, won the one mile and one
sixteenth dirt test but was disqualified after the stewards
ruled that she interfered with Montana Rose at the start.

Frivolette, who
is owned in James Smith and David Oates, was moved into
the win position. Smith also trains the six-year-old daughter
of Stephen Got Even who was ridden by the meets leading
rider, Rui Pimentel.
Frivolette paid
$5.90 to win and along with Lucky Day, who was placed second,
set up a $23.90 exactor payoff. Baffin was moved from fourth
to third. The triactor returned $42.90.
It was the third
win in five starts at Fort Erie for the Kentucky bred mare
who has recorded 8 wins in 42 lifetime starts.
Next up in the
09 Cup series will be The Fans Cup for fillies and mares
on Sunday, August 9.
