FORT ERIE,
April 24...
Live Racing;
Thoroughbred racing
returns on Saturday, May 1. Opening weekend will feature
live racing on Saturday and Sunday. Beginning Sunday, May
9 Fort Erie will open for live racing every Sunday, Monday
and Tuesday through to closing day which is Tuesday, October
26.
Post time
each day is 1:30pm.
Opening
Day:
$1 food specials
will be offered opening day. The specials include Haagen
Daz Ice Cream Bars, Cotton Candy, Carmel Corn and Popcorn.
$1 specials will be served from 1pm. to 3pm.
Live Racing programs
will be $2 and there will be live music throughout the
afternoon featuring “The Legends Show” on the
Paddock Stage.
Saturday is Derby
Day, watch and wager on The Kentucky Derby at the Fort.
U.S. Wagering
is back:
Beginning Saturday,
May 1, racing fans attending the track will again be able
to wager in both Canadian and U.S. funds. Wagering in U.S.
funds will only be available on-track. Wagering at our
OTB sites will be in Canadian funds only.
Simlulcast
Wagering:
Wednesday, April
28 marks the return of the summer simulcast schedule. Fort
Erie will open for simulcast wagering ever Monday and Tuesday,
afternoons only, Wednesday through Sunday, afternoon and
evenings.
Longshot OTB’s
will continue to operate seven days a week, afternoons
and evenings.

Prince
of Wales Day:
The $500,000 Prince
of Wales Stakes, second jewel in Canada’s Triple
Crown, will be run on Sunday, July 25.
