Fort
Erie Race Track Live Racing Season Opens May 5
FORT ERIE,
April 23...Opening day at one of North America’s
oldest racing venues is just around the corner.
Historic Fort
Erie Race Track will kick off it’s 110th season of
live racing Saturday May 5. Post time for the first race
is 1:05pm.
The 2007 racing
season will offer less live racing days and the schedule
will be dissimilar to previous years.
The first noticeable
change to racing schedule is the number of live days. There
will be 84 days of live racing this year compared to 104
in 2006.
With the exception
of opening day, there will be no weekend racing in May.
The track will offer live racing on Monday and Tuesdays
only.
Sunday racing
will be added in June and during July and August the track
will be open four days a week, Saturday through Tuesday.
The final two
months of the season, September and October, racing will
be conducted three days a week, Sunday through Tuesday
with one exception, the addition of live racing on Breeders’ Cup
day, Saturday October 27.
The 72nd. Running
of the Prince of Wales Stakes is Sunday, July 15.
Post time each
day is 1:05pm.
