Shot Gun Ela Wins 2008 Rainbow Connection Stakes

SHOT GUN ELA had good speed to set fast fractions while dueling into and through the turn with outside partner, finally shook that one off in early stretch then was kept to task to the wire. ONLY IF SPLIT had outside speed to vie for the lead with the eventual winner, went head and head through the turn, could not match that one in the drive but ran on and was clear of the others at the wire. MISS JUICEY chased the speed battle from a distance while outside of rival into the turn, got the better of that one and had a mild stretch rally to best the rest. PARADISE CAT had and inside trip while inside of rival and tracking the two leaders from a distance then tired turning for home. BIRSAY hopped at the break, was off slow and never threatened. NINAS CAT off the pace from the outset, had no rally. FLASHY PINK trailed on the turn and was never close.
