Sweet Lil Punky Wins 2008 Mike Anderson Memorial Cup

SWEET LIL PUNKY tracked the leader then closed into the stretch from off the rail, was full out in a three wide drive and prevailed late. NASTY FEVER in touch and inside, bid up the rail in the drive, finished well but but was outdone by the winner. GRAIN OF TRUTH had speed and led the way, was clear into the stretch but could not last in an off the rail drive. ATHENAIS came from off the pace to put in a strong stretch run and finished well. AFRICAN RAINBOW trailed early then was coming on strong while inside in the stretch run but had no path late. STREETWISE had an outside run and was in the hunt into the stretch, but needed a strong kick. CLASSY FLOWER in mid pack, lacked a bid and was not a stretch factor. IN LOVE IN SEATTLE backed off and then evened out.
