Smiling Jordan Wins 2008 Holiday Inn Fort Erie Cup

SMILING JORDAN tracked the four leaders in the early going, closed and was 3-wide and gaining through the turn, took on the front runner in the drive while outside of that one and proved best under good handling. FREZACON had speed to lead and shake off inside rival, was clear through the far turn in an off the rail run then gave way to the winner in the final furlong. DISBELIEF made up ground and was wide into the stretch, then rallied from the five path and was going well late. SOLIHULL gained ground from off the rail, was 4-wide on the far turn and a factor then evened out. COLD WAR rated off the pace and had no bid. FLAT ROCK was up on pace and a factor for six then faded. HAIL THE MOON unhurried early, stayed off the pace and did not menace. NORTHERN CRUISER pressed inside and was tracking into the far turn then faded. KIRRIEMUIR faded and was all done on the far turn.
