Alezzandro Wins 2007 Prince of Wales Stakes

ALEZZANDRO had speed to lead into the clubhouse turn, kept rivals at bay and continued to show the way into and through the far turn from just off the rail, opened up a gap entering the stretch then was kept to task in the drive.

JIGGS COZ hopped at the break then settled at the rear of the field, was wide through the first turn, trailed into the far turn, began a rally and was five wide into the stretch from the 7-path, kept it going and finished willingly in the stretch run but could not reach the winner. DAAHER kept in touch and tracked the leader from outside of foes, was four wide and just off the leader into the far turn, bid from there in the stretch while between foes but was outfinished by the top two. MIKE FOX stalked the leader and was close up into the far turn when joined inside and out by rivals, kept in the game turning for home but lacked the needed kick in the final furlong. MARCHFIELD had an inside trip throughout, was a factor turning into the stretch while still on the rail but lacked the needed rally. POACHERS MOON tracked the leaders then was between foes going into the far turn and just off the pacesetter, kept battling into the stretch with four chasers but had no final push.
