Marco Be Good Wins 2007 Daryl Wells Sr. Memorial Stakes

MARCO BE GOOD up close from the inside into the turn, was taken in hand, moved outside of the leaders and bid 3-wide, challenged for the lead in early stretch then cleared under good handling. GOLDEN ICE had speed to lead the way after breaking smartly, held the front end into the stretch while under pressure from inside and outside challengers, could not match the winner in the final furlong but ran on gamely for the place. VINTAGE YEAR never far back, saved ground on the turn then bid up the rail in the drive and caught the lead briefly at the furlong pole then was outfinished. ASCOT DEVIL tracked the leaders before putting in a mild off the rail stretch try. NORTHERN REPORT off the early pace, looked for a path on the turn for home, found room on the rail, bid from there and had a late turn of foot. CHEMISTRY CLASS bumped and squeezed back at the break, was 3-wide and chasing the leaders on the turn then lacked the needed stretch kick. KEEN FOX off the pace into the stretch, had no rally. LOOKOFANEAGLE was up close and just off the leader on the turn then weakened in the stretch run. HAVE ANOTHER trailed and showed little.
