Lindsey's Dove Wins 2006 Holiday Inn / Fort Erie Cup

LINDSEY'S DOVE saved ground early, bided her time while keeping in touch on the far turn, bid from the 5-path in the drive, fired down the lane and was clearly best. JET ENGINE settled well off the early pace, was making up ground turning into the stretch while 3-wide then fired down the lane and finished fast. CIELAVIA in striking distance, bid 3-wide on the far turn and took the lead into the stretch, failed to match the top two in the final furlong and gave way. ROCKS VILLA led the way and had a slim edge after going a half, failed to match up with rivals turning for home and evened out. IRISH DOVE trailed the field, was in the 5-path for the stretch run but lacked a serious kick. DECADENT DASH in touch and in the hunt from the inside turning for home, tired.
BRAVER THE SMARTER in mid pack, was never a menace and had no rally from the 3-path.. J B'S WOLF pressed the pace for a half then weakened.
